Variations of Model Checking

چکیده
This work is finished and published [7]. A reviewed version of this article will appear shortly. The logic ATCTL is a convenient logic to specify properties with actions and real-time. It is intended as a property language for Lightweight UML models [12], which consist mainly of simplified class diagrams and statecharts. ATCTL combines two known extensions of CTL, namely ACTL and TCTL. The reason to extend CTL with both actions and real time is that in LUML state–transition diagrams, we specify states, actions and real time, and our properties refer to all of these elements. The analyst therefore needs a property language that contains constructs for all these elements. ATCTL can be reduced to ACTL as well as to TCTL, and therefore also to CTL. This gives us a choice of tools for model checking; we have used is Kronos [13], a TCTL model checker.

A short introduction to two approaches in formal verification of security protocols: model checking and theorem proving
In this paper, we shortly review two formal approaches in verification of security protocols; model checking and theorem proving. Model checking is based on studying the behavior of protocols via generating all different behaviors of a protocol and checking whether the desired goals are satisfied in all instances or not. We investigate Scyther operational semantics as n example of this...
متن کاملA Hybrid Meta-heuristic Approach to Cope with State Space Explosion in Model Checking Technique for Deadlock Freeness
Model checking is an automatic technique for software verification through which all reachable states are generated from an initial state to finding errors and desirable patterns. In the model checking approach, the behavior and structure of system should be modeled. Graph transformation system is a graphical formal modeling language to specify and model the system. However, modeling of large s...
متن کاملReachability checking in complex and concurrent software systems using intelligent search methods
Software system verification is an efficient technique for ensuring the correctness of a software product, especially in safety-critical systems in which a small bug may have disastrous consequences. The goal of software verification is to ensure that the product fulfills the requirements. Studies show that the cost of finding and fixing errors in design time is less than finding and fixing the...
متن کاملApplications of Fuzzy Program Graph in Symbolic Checking of Fuzzy Flip-Flops
All practical digital circuits are usually a mixture of combinational and sequential logic. Flip–flops are essential to sequential logic therefore fuzzy flip–flops are considered to be among the most essential topics of fuzzy digital circuit. The concept of fuzzy digital circuit is among the most interesting applications of fuzzy sets and logic due to the fact that if there has to be an ultimat...
متن کاملLarger Automata and Less Work for LTL Model Checking
Many different automata and algorithms have been investigated in the context of automata-theoretic LTL model checking. This article compares the behaviour of two variations on the widely used Büchi automaton, namely (i) a Büchi automaton where states are labelled with atomic propositions and transitions are unlabelled, and (ii) a form of testing automaton that can only observe changes in state ...
متن کاملCoastal Water Level Prediction Model Using Adaptive Neuro-fuzzy Inference System
This paper employs Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) to predict water level that leads to flood in coastal areas. ANFIS combines the verbal power of fuzzy logic and numerical power of neural network for its action. Meteorological and astronomical data of Santa Monica, a coastal area in California, U. S. A., were obtained. A portion of the data was used to train the ANFIS network, wh...
